Dolcè is the first municipality in the province of Verona you encounter coming from Trento. It is located at the beginning of the Vallagarina and is part of Valpolicella.

The Dolcè area is characterised by imposing Austrian fortifications, a reminder of the domination from over the Alps present until 1866. These forts were built between 1849 and 1852 to protect the Brennero road and the mouth of the Val d’Adige: they represent an important part of history for the valley, in memory of the past.

Dolcè is also important for the naturalistic itineraries around the marvellous landscapes created by the mountains and the river Adige, where it's possible canoeing and rafting, passing by the Fort Ceraino. 

For those who love sports outside water, Dolcè is a spot on the cycle path "Adige Terra dei Forti", that enable tourists and bikers to enjoy the landscapes in the woods and alongside the river Adige. Interesting to discover is also the Wood of Poets with the opportunity to read and enjoy the poems of different famous poets, surrounded by nature.
