Before arriving in Fumane, high up on a hill, you can see the small Sanctuary of the Madonna De La Salette, built in 1864, erected for an ex voto by the Fumanesi.

In those years, in fact, the peasants were desperate for a disease that had hit the vines in a terrible way; a preacher friar told the inhabitants that Our Lady had appeared in a village in France and invited them to dedicate a small sanctuary to her: this would surely help them in eradicating the disease.

And, in fact, so it happened.

The people of Fuman who survived the phylloxera decided to build the sanctuary as thanks for the protection given by the Madonna.

The temple is dedicated to Our Lady of La Salette, who appeared in France.
Next to the church there is a cave with the suggestive statues of the crying Madonna and two young people.
A place of peace where we can express our emotions and seek some comfort.

The external area surrounding the sanctuary of the Salette is open and accessible every day.

The interior of the Sanctuary, on the other hand, can only be visited during the openings linked to the celebrations: from May to September/October on Sunday at 3.30 pm the Rosary is recited and then, at 4.00 pm, Holy Mass is celebrated on this occasion the Sanctuary is open.
